My new favorite movie . . .
North and South
I stumbled across this gem on Netflix when I was packing for my interview tour. If you love Jane Austen's novels as much as I do, you will love this 2004 adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel (1855). I haven't read the book yet, but I will get it as soon as possible. This version starring Richard Armitage as Mr. Thornton and Daniela Denby-Ashe as Margaret Hale is beautiful. After I watched it I was bit speechless - I wanted to watch it over again as soon as it finished. Everyone should watch it!! If you have Netflix, you can watch it instantly - it is 4 episodes. It is trying to bump out A&E's version of Pride and Prejudice as my favorite movie and I think it may be winning.
On another note - had my interview at Palmetto Health (Columbia, S.C.) on Saturday and will be going to Macon, GA tomorrow to interview at Mercer.

I was sad yesterday. I had to say goodbye to a good friend. It was the end of an almost 10-year friendship and it was hard to let go, but I knew it was for the best. So goodbye dear friend:
2000 Mercedes C230 Kompressor - my 18th birthday present from my parents
Say hello to my new friend:
2010 Honda Accord V6 - early graduation/gotta-drive-around-all-of-the-Southeast-for-interviews-and-I-don't-want-to-break-down-on-the-side-of-the-road present from my parents
I really was sad last night when the guy who delivered the new car drove away in my car. Isn't that weird - especially with all the problems I've had with my car? I felt like I was betraying our long-term relationship! Well, at least I will feel safer driving this new car all over the place. My parents are awesome, by the way. My first interview is in Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday! I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon to go to Atlanta first to break up the journey, then I have to be in South Carolina on Friday night for a dinner with the residents and faculty. Then I go to Macon, Georgia and Wilmington, North Carolina next week. I have my audio books on my iPod touch ready to go for the long drive. Lots of packing to do tonight!

iPod Touch
Emily convinced me to get one last night. I don't even know how to work a regular iPod, so I have to read everything to figure this thing out. I did download some apps last night including Urbanspoon (so fun) and the Lightsaber b/c Emily wanted to battle. Oh yeah . . . Emily is in town. :) We are going to try some bridesmaids dresses on today - hopefully we will finally choose some.
Happy Halloween everyone!

Rustic Elegance
I met Jamie a couple of weeks ago for coffee and cupcakes and we started talking about the shower I'm going to throw for her. Rustic elegance is going to be the "theme" so I decided to get some ideas:

Also got to hang out with Mrs. Michelle tonight! She's so much fun and I'm going to miss her next year when she's off being an awesome psychiatrist.

Some things I'm loving right now . . .
1. Wedding Registry!
Ben and I spent over 6 hours at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and Target doing our registry. We went to B, B, & B first and the guy who was in charge of the registry followed us around giving us advice for the first 30 minutes or so. He was very helpful, but it's really hard to choose things that you may have for many many years, when someone like that is looking over your shoulder. When we got to the wall o' kitchen gadgets, he finaly left us alone. There was a lot of stuff to go through, but at the same time they were very limited on the different types of the same product. For example, in that giant store, they only had 2 different rice cookers to choose from - huge and gaudy or tiny and crappy. We actually had to find one that was listed online. I think Ben even had a little fun - when he was allowed to use the scanner, he went a little crazy. When we went online later to check our Target registry, I noticed that he had "accidently" scanned an ottoman (that I didn't even see) and some women's shoes! I told him that he didn't have to come when I go to Anthro next week. That one is going to be so much fun!
2. Glee

My new favorite show! How can you not love singing and dancing? I like the mash ups they do - "This is My Confession" with "It's My Life" was awesome! Ben kept playing it on his phone all week, but now I can't find it online anywhere. Check out the show on Wednesday nights on Fox at 8:00 central. *Update: Ben found the video.
3. The Varsity
This yummy hot dog drive-in serves between 15,000-20,000 people a day! It is near Georgia Tech (lucky yellow jackets) and is always packed. You hear "Whata ya have? Whata ya have?" as you walk toward the counter. I recommend chili cheese dog with onions and onion rings - make sure to ask for no mustard (I forgot).
4. Fuji Instax

This new fangled Polaroid-like camera from Urban Outfitters spits out prints for your instant enjoyment. This has been on my wish list for awhile now, but it's hard for me to stomach buying something whose paper costs $30 for only 20 sheets. It looks like so much fun though!
5. Baingan Barta
This cauliflower dish is going to be my new go-to meal at Indian restaurants. And . . . it's got tons of peas in it!!
6. Coke Museum
I haven't been to the Coke Museum in Atlanta in years, so when Ben and I went on Thursday, I was really surprised - nothing looked familiar! They completely re-did everything. It was very nice, but I missed the how the coke would zoom across the ceiling in the tasting room. Ben tried all 65 coke products in the tasting room! I tried all of them except the tea ones (tea is gross). We felt a little sick afterwards.
7. Skp-Bo
Fun new game made by the makers of Uno. Try it, it's fun.
8. All things Pumpkin
Pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin bread pudding to name a few that I've had this week.
9. Ben
It's been a fun week with Ben. I came to Atlanta to take Step 2 CS, but he was good about taking me to some tourist-y kind of places, and we went to all new restaurants. He didn't even complain that much when we registered. (Well, there was another couple there doing their registry and Ben wanted to go sit with the bored guy in the massage chairs and talk about guy stuff.) What a great guy.
